Texas 2010: Day 6
We started Resurrection Sunday very early. First we attended a sunrise Easter Sunday church service at a rodeo. It started at 6:30am! Different churches come together for this service once a year on Resurrection Sunday. There was praise and worship, a skit by a youth group and the preaching of the word by one of the pastors. Thelma, the team’s leader was asked by pastor John to read Luke 24:45-53. Mike Vera, one of our team members was asked to share his testimony at the rodeo arena fro 3 1/2 minutes. He did and at the end of the service 10 people gave their lives to the Lord!
We returned to the campsite at around 8:15 am and went to our rooms to rest and get ready for the Resurrection Sunday service at the new Gulf Cost Four Square church’s sanctuary at Good News Camp in Hitchcock. The service started at 10:30 am but first, breakfast was ready at 9:30 am for the whole congregation. It was delicious and we enjoyed every single bite!
During service the team was asked to greet the congregation. We were greatly blessed by the praise & worship and the message of the word by pastor John Elliott. We were very warmly greeted and at the end of the service were approached by many believers to say their good-byes to us.
We met with Vickie and her husband Terry from Somebody Cares America for brunch at a restaurant which was greatly enjoyed by the team. We’re off to NYC tomorrow early afternoon; thanks for keeping up with our trip and our progress!
