Amsterdam, Netherlands

overview

summary:

Pastor Jan Barendse, a longtime friend of Times Square Church, moved his church into a new building in 2008. The church "Keerpunt" is located just outside the city center of Amsterdam. Once the ministry planted its feet, they realized that they were going to need a bigger platform/stage to hold the choir and instruments. Soon, they had an architect design and draw up a set of plans for a new stage.

current status:

A BrickThink team went out in October of 2008 to Amsterdam to work alongside the Keerpunt congregation in building the new stage! They were able to complete the work in just one week, and by the next Sunday morning service, new carpet and all of the instruments were already in place!

past trips

  • October 2008

A team of 4 volunteers went to Amsterdam in October 2008. Once there, they were greeted with a group of carpenters and other volunteers from the Keerpunt church congregation. They spent the next week building a brand new extension to the front of the stage/platform at the front of the church. The team (along with the help of the local volunteers) was able to complete the whole project, and on the last day saw the carpet installer come and put brand new carpeting across the stage.
