Faith in Action Ministries, run by Michael and Rocky Beene, have been ministering to a village located far up a tributary of Rio Dulce (a huge river) for over 20 years. They would often bring teams and stay in local hotels while traveling back and forth to the village. Because of the recent increased tourist interest in the area, the cost of housing has become overbearing. By a series of miracles and generous donations, in 2008 the Beene’s acquired a plot of land which sits directly on the waterfront. They soon broke ground on a new building which will house long term missionaries, as well as short-term teams which come down to minister in the area.

Through the help and support of various ministries and the labor of a local crew of Guatemalan workers, the building's 1st Floor is complete, and they are now working on the 2nd Floor.
A team of 23 volunteers traveled down to Rio Dulce in February 2009. While there, they laid out the pre-formed rebar/concrete beams for the 1st Floor slab, and then mixed and poured about 40yds of concrete…by hand! They also roughed out the plumbing and electric for the entire level.
